AEW crowned new World Trios Champions at Grand Slam Mexico, and The Demand’s title run is officially over. “Hangman” Adam Page joined Brody King and Bandido to defeat Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun in the August 5 main event from Arena México.
The match quickly turned into a full-blown fight, with Page, King and Bandido throwing everything they had at the champions. The Demand tried to use their size and numbers to take control, including Liona stacking all three challengers on his shoulders before dropping them with a massive triple fallaway slam.
That still wasn’t enough to keep the titles. The finish came when Bandido attempted the 21 Plex on Liona, but the powerhouse held onto the ropes. Page stepped in with a kick before he and Bandido connected with a Buckshot Lariat and 21 Plex combination to put Liona away. The three-count gave Page, King and Bandido the victory and officially ended The Demand’s run as AEW World Trios Champions.
Page now adds another championship to his AEW resume, while Brodido finally have gold after building momentum as one of the company’s most dangerous teams. Together, the three men now sit at the top of AEW’s trios division.
The Demand entered Grand Slam Mexico with the power, experience and championship advantage, but Page, King and Bandido walked out with everything. The new champions now have targets on their backs as the rest of the division lines up for a shot.
