TNA may already be looking at a familiar name to fill Tommy Dreamer’s spot.

Following news that Dreamer is out as TNA’s head of creative, Fightful Select reports that industry sources immediately pointed to Road Dogg as someone who has been discussed internally as a possible replacement. Road Dogg left WWE earlier this year, and his name is already making the rounds as TNA looks toward its creative future.

Nothing has been finalized, but the fact that Road Dogg’s name surfaced so quickly is notable. He spent years working on WWE creative and was one of the most recognizable figures behind the scenes before departing the company.

The discussion comes after Dreamer revealed on Busted Open that he and TNA had parted ways following a conversation with TNA President Carlos Silva. According to people within TNA, some expected Dreamer’s departure was coming, but believed it would happen after Slammiversary rather than before the company’s biggest event of the summer.

Dreamer’s exit marks the end of a lengthy run with TNA. While many fans remember his on-screen appearances dating back to the EV 2.0 era, he had become much more important behind the scenes. Dreamer served as TNA’s head of creative while also playing a significant role in talent relations.

The timing also adds to what has been a turbulent stretch for TNA. In recent weeks, the company has seen Tessa Blanchard leave after securing her release, while Steve Maclin and Myla Grace also exited the promotion.

Now the focus shifts to who will help shape TNA moving forward, and Road Dogg is the first major name being connected to the vacancy.

What do you think about Road Dogg potentially taking over TNA creative? Would he be the right choice, or should TNA look elsewhere? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
