TNA Lockdown is going to look a little different when it returns tonight. Every single match will take place inside a steel cage, and TNA has brought in an absolutely massive structure to handle an entire pay-per-view behind the steel.
Gia Miller took to Twitter and gave fans their first proper look at the cage ahead of the August 23 show, uploading a photo from the arena with the structure already surrounding the ring. The size immediately stood out, with the cage appearing considerably larger than the standard setup fans are accustomed to seeing. Miller had some fun with just how much space she had to work with for the night.

There is a practical reason for going this big. Lockdown isn’t using the cage as a one-match attraction tonight. The structure has to remain in place throughout the entire show, while matches such as Lethal Lockdown will eventually have several wrestlers packed inside at the same time.
That makes the cage itself a pretty fitting sight for Lockdown’s return. TNA hasn’t held the pay-per-view in nearly a decade, and instead of bringing it back with only a handful of matches behind steel, the company is committing completely to the concept by putting the entire show inside the structure.
The cage is already up, and judging by Miller’s photo, TNA certainly didn’t undersize it for the occasion. After nearly a decade without a Lockdown pay-per-view, fans are getting an entire night behind steel—and TNA has built one enormous cage to make it happen.
