CM Punk is getting another shot at Hollywood in the upcoming movie Guarding Stars, and now fans finally know what he’ll look like in his next Netflix movie.
Netflix dropped the first trailer for Guarding Stars on October 14, giving fans their first look at the former Undisputed WWE Champion. Punk doesn’t dominate the preview, but he definitely makes his presence felt during one of the film’s comedic moments. In the scene, Punk appears alongside the rest of the cast during a makeover sequence before delivering a line that sounds exactly like something you’d expect from him.
“I love a good makeover.”
It’s only a few seconds, but it’s the first real look at Punk’s character after months of speculation. His role is still being kept under wraps, though the trailer suggests he’s more than just a quick cameo. Netflix made sure to include him among the featured cast, hinting he’ll have a bigger part to play when the movie arrives later this year.
Guarding Stars stars Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki and is based on Katherine Center’s bestselling novel The Bodyguard. The title was changed to avoid confusion with the iconic Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner film, but the story remains the same—a professional bodyguard is hired to protect a Hollywood action star over the holidays, only for the assignment to become a lot more personal than either of them expected.
Punk has quietly built a pretty solid acting résumé over the last several years. Between Heels, Mayans M.C., Revival, horror projects and voice work in Zootopia 2, he’s kept adding Hollywood credits while remaining one of WWE’s biggest names. Now, with Guarding Stars set to hit Netflix on November 18, fans have finally gotten their first taste of what he’ll bring to his latest project.
