CM Punk already has a home on Netflix with WWE RAW, and now he’s getting a spot on the streamer’s movie calendar. The WWE star’s upcoming holiday rom-com Guarding Stars will premiere on November 18, 2026.
According to Deadline, Netflix has officially locked in the fall release date for the film, which stars Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki.
Guarding Stars is based on Katherine Center’s 2022 novel The Bodyguard. The adaptation received a new title to avoid confusion with the legendary 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, with fans and readers helping choose the replacement.
The story follows a no-nonsense bodyguard assigned to protect a charming action star during the holidays. The job quickly gets messy when sparks start flying, secrets begin coming out and Christmas becomes much more complicated than either of them expected.
Punk’s role has not been revealed, but he will appear alongside a stacked cast that includes Andie MacDowell, Walker Hayes, Toby Sandeman and My Life with the Walter Boys star Noah LaLonde. Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum is directing the film from a script written by Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo. Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Padalecki are also producing through Living in the Asterisk.
The movie gives Punk another acting credit outside the wrestling ring and puts him in completely different territory from the violence fans see every week on WWE television. Instead of throwing punches and chasing championships, Punk is joining a Christmas romance packed with Hollywood and country music names.
CM Punk fans can now circle November 18, 2026, for his next Netflix appearance. The only mystery left is what role the former WWE Champion will play once Guarding Stars arrives.
