Danhausen’s big experiment took a completely unexpected turn on the October 30, 2026 episode of SmackDown, as Gunther crashed the party and destroyed just about everything in sight. But the biggest surprise came when Finn Balor’s Demon persona made a shocking return to confront The Ring General.

Danhausen kicked things off by making his way to the stage, promising fans the reveal of his most evil experiment yet. Unfortunately for him, Gunther had other plans. The former World Heavyweight Champion appeared behind Danhausen, who didn’t even realize he was there until he turned around.

Danhausen had just enough time to realize how bad things were about to get, letting out a quick “s***” before Gunther blasted him with a forearm and powerbombed him through a table.

Gunther wasn’t finished. He dragged Danhausen into the ring and prepared to deliver another powerbomb when the cloning machine suddenly activated, complete with exploding-ring-style pyro.

That’s when an army of miniature Danhausens came rushing toward the ring. The mini-Hausens attempted to fight back, with one delivering a headscissors and a springboard headbutt, but Gunther quickly took control.

Gunther even threw a pumpkin at the miniature attackers before chopping another one down. He then placed one mini-Hausen on a table and powerbombed another directly onto him, breaking the table in the process.

Things only got worse for Danhausen when Gunther positioned another table against the turnbuckles and locked him in a sleeper hold. However, the lights suddenly went out, and everything changed.

Finn Balor’s Demon persona emerged, making his way toward the ring as Gunther stood frozen in disbelief. Gunther initially tried to talk his way out of the confrontation, insisting they didn’t need to take things any further.

The Demon wasn’t interested in negotiating. Gunther missed a clothesline, allowing Balor to unload with flying forearms and kicks. Gunther managed to fight back with a chop and even struck Balor with his championship belt, but The Demon barely reacted.

Balor responded with a Sling Blade before delivering a running dropkick that sent Gunther crashing through the table positioned in the corner. And he still wasn’t finished. With Gunther retreating to the outside, Balor grabbed a ladder and used it to knock The Ring General onto the announce table. He then climbed to the top of the ladder and delivered a massive Coup de Grace onto Gunther. The segment ended with The Demon standing tall after taking out Gunther, turning Danhausen’s bizarre experiment into one of the night’s biggest surprises.

Finn Balor bringing back The Demon adds a completely different dimension to his issues with Gunther, especially after the brutal punishment The Ring General dished out during the segment. What started as a comedy-filled experiment ended with a serious warning that Gunther may have a much bigger problem on his hands.

What do you think about Finn Balor bringing back The Demon to take out Gunther? Was this the right way to reintroduce the character, and where should WWE take this rivalry next? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
