AEW fans have had enough of watching Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin beat people who never had a chance against them. Another Hurt Syndicate squash match on Collision immediately turned into criticism over why two of the biggest veterans on the roster aren’t doing something that actually matters.

One fan went straight at the problem after the August 22 episode, questioning why squash matches seem to be all AEW has for Lashley and Benjamin right now.

“Someone please tell me why the only thing AEW has for The Hurt Syndicate — Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin is for them to squash jobbers. These two legends deserve more, man.”

Another admitted the booking has killed their interest in the group altogether, adding that he wishes Shelton Benjamin was doing something meaningful.

“I hate how little I care about The Hurt Syndicate these days. I wish Shelton Benjamin was doing something of substance.”

With All In only eight days away, another fan couldn’t understand why The Hurt Syndicate was still spinning its wheels on Collision.

“All In is in 8 days and The Hurt Syndicate are running squash matches. Where’s the outrage from MVP? Funny how that works. #AEWCollision”

Then there was Bobby Lashley. At 50 years old, Lashley still looks every bit like someone AEW could throw into its biggest programs, and one fan couldn’t believe the former WWE Champion hasn’t even touched the AEW World Championship picture.

“The fact that Bobby Lashley is in his FIFTIES and he still looks like he was made out of granite and he hasn’t even touched the world title is crazy. AEW needs to belt that man up.”

For another viewer, the problem isn’t just what Lashley and Benjamin are doing when they appear. It’s how little AEW uses them in the first place.

“You don’t care about them because HOW COULD YOU when they are literally never on AEW Dynamite? And rarely even on Collision? They were one of the hottest acts in the company and then poof… gone. The fact that AEW is wasting the last few years of Lashley and Benjamin is awful. The Hurt Syndicate should be a weekly fixture on #AEWDynamite 🤷🏻‍♂️”

Those reactions came after Lashley and Benjamin teamed with Lee Moriarty on the August 22 Collision in Reading, Pennsylvania. Ryan O’Neill, Nic Nolan and Matt Mako were standing across from them, and the result wasn’t exactly difficult to predict.

Lashley and Benjamin quickly overwhelmed their opponents before Lashley hit a spear on the floor. The veterans then left Moriarty to finish things inside the ring, where he forced Mako to submit with the Border City Stretch.

The Hurt Syndicate got another win, but that’s not what frustrated fans are asking for anymore. They want Lashley and Benjamin involved in stories and championship programs while there’s still time to capitalize on them, not another easy victory that leaves them in essentially the same place afterwards.
