Lars Sullivan found another reason to make social media worse, and this time he dragged Chelsea Green into a political fight she had already settled herself. Just hours before Green stepped into a major qualifying match on the July 24, 2026, episode of WWE SmackDown, the former WWE star popped into the replies of a wrestling post and tried to slap the MAGA label back on her.
The original post was completely harmless. Pro Wrestling Powerhouse said Green should win her qualifier and then capture the Interim WWE Women’s Championship in the ladder match at SummerSlam. Sullivan saw that and decided wrestling talk was not messy enough.
“She is secretly MAGA.”
That was the entire post. No evidence. No explanation. No reason to believe he knows anything about Green’s private political views. Sullivan just tossed the accusation into the middle of a wrestling discussion.
The move was especially cheap because Green already went through this mess once. After another account accused her of being MAGA, she publicly shut it down and made it clear that fans could criticize her wrestling or appearance, but she would not allow people to invent political beliefs for her. Green then spelled out exactly where she stands.
“I can handle you saying things about my looks or my talent, but what you won’t do is spread lies about my political views.”
“I am a Canadian citizen. I can’t vote in America. I am not MAGA. I am a liberal/Democrat. When I become a citizen, I will vote for a president who believes in equal human rights.”
There was not much room left for interpretation after that, but Sullivan still decided he knew the truth better than the woman talking about her own beliefs.
The backlash from the original political mess became so obnoxious that Green eventually deleted her Twitter account. She later laughed about the decision on Instagram while sharing a photo from dinner with her husband, Matt Cardona.
“Spent time with family, ate good food, invited friends over, touched grass and deleted X. Successful week, I’d say!”
Green moved on. Sullivan apparently did not. While he was sitting online trying to restart a dead argument, Green went to work on SmackDown and won her qualifying match. That victory punched her ticket to the Interim WWE Women’s Championship ladder match at SummerSlam.
So the night ended with Green chasing WWE gold while Sullivan was chasing engagement with a four-word political jab.
