Brock Lesnar may have gone through Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, but by the end of the night he was laughing instead of fighting.

Just hours after his brutal main event against Oba Femi, Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet took to his Instagram and revived one of his favorite running gags with Lesnar—and the two picked up right where they left off.

The video starts with Stonestreet pretending he’s furious after SummerSlam: “I’m so mad, I’m gonna punch the first person I see…” That’s when Brock Lesnar casually walks into the frame. Stonestreet immediately changes his mind.

“I mean, the second person I see. Brock, out of my shot!”

Lesnar steps away… only to pop up behind him again seconds later. By that point, Stonestreet has completely lost it.

“I mean, the second person I see… goddammit, Brock, no!”

Even Lesnar couldn’t keep a straight face, breaking character and laughing as the video came to an end. For longtime fans, it was a familiar sight.

Lesnar and Stonestreet have been friends for well over a decade, and the actor has made a tradition out of recreating the same joke whenever the opportunity presents itself. Every version follows the same formula: Stonestreet vows to punch the first person he sees, Lesnar unexpectedly appears behind him, and the entire plan immediately falls apart.

The latest edition came after one of the biggest nights of Lesnar’s recent career. The Beast headlined Night One of SummerSlam against Oba Femi in a violent Hell in a Cell match that saw the ring literally torn apart before Femi scored the biggest win of his WWE career. Afterwards, Lesnar embraced his opponent in the ring and declared him “the future of WWE,” closing the show with what many viewed as a passing-of-the-torch moment.

Once the cameras stopped rolling, though, it didn’t take long for Lesnar to swap the intensity for comedy. After surviving Hell in a Cell, he still had enough left in the tank to become the punchline of one of Eric Stonestreet’s oldest jokes.
