Ellen Åkesson isn’t leaving WWE with bitterness. Hours after being included in WWE’s latest round of developmental cuts, Åkesson spoke out about her departure and made it clear she loved her short time with the company.
Åkesson confirmed the news herself on September 4, 2026, saying she appreciated everything from training and wrestling to the people she met behind the scenes at the WWE Performance Center. She wrote:
“I have been released from WWE. I truly loved it there. From the wrestling to the security staff to the coaches to the fans to my friends to the daily small routines like locking my bike at the PC.”
Her WWE run lasted just six months, but Åkesson said she’s walking away knowing she gave the opportunity everything she had.
She added, “I am confident that I did everything I could these 6 months. Thank you for the love.”
Åkesson also shared photos from her time with WWE, including one of herself standing inside an NXT ring. There was no angry goodbye or shot at the company — just appreciation for the experience and confidence that she left nothing on the table.
Six months isn’t a long WWE career, but Åkesson clearly made the most of every day she had inside the Performance Center. Her run is over, but judging by her reaction, she’s leaving with plenty of good memories and no regrets about the effort she put in.
