El Hijo de Rey Misterio had just won a huge Mask vs. Mask match in Tijuana when a fan apparently decided he wanted to become part of the show too. That turned out to be a pretty terrible decision because Misterio ended up dropping him right there in the ring.

The whole thing went down Friday night during The Crash’s 15th Anniversary event. Misterio had just defeated Xtreme Tiger in the main event and was resting against the ropes while Tiger prepared to unmask when a fan somehow got past security and climbed into the ring.

The guy approached Misterio and struck him in the abdomen, but Misterio actually held back at first. He mostly looked confused about why some random fan was suddenly standing in front of him throwing hands.

Then the guy went for him again. That was enough for Misterio, who responded with a punch of his own and dropped the intruder to the canvas. Security finally jumped in afterwards and dragged the guy out of the ring before removing him from the venue.

It was a pretty ridiculous interruption considering what had just happened. Misterio — the son of Rey Misterio Sr. and cousin of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio — had just won a Mask vs. Mask match, meaning Xtreme Tiger was about to reveal his identity in one of lucha libre’s biggest traditions.

Thankfully, they were still able to finish the ceremony once the unwanted guest was gone. Xtreme Tiger removed his mask and revealed himself as Leon Sereno, a 44-year-old wrestler with 28 years in the business.

Sereno then dropped a pretty cool piece of history during the ceremony, revealing that Rey Misterio Sr. was actually the man who debuted him in Tijuana nearly 30 years ago. That gave the entire match a full-circle connection to the Misterio family.

Unfortunately, one fan nearly turned that emotional moment into something completely different because security somehow let him get all the way into the ring and put his hands on a wrestler. Misterio gave him one chance to knock it off — the second shot apparently came with consequences.
