Dustin Rhodes is back on his pizza war, and this time he’s coming for an entire state.
The AEW veteran jumped back into the debate on September 3, 2026, after John Silver declared that good pizza doesn’t need toppings at all, writing, “I’m against toppings on pizza. If the pizza is good then toppings only make it worse.” Rhodes immediately spotted Silver’s take and made it clear the two needed to settle this.
“We need to have a talk.”
That opened the door for a fan to point out that Silver is from Long Island and should know what he’s talking about when it comes to pizza, writing, “John is Long Island. He knows pizza. He’s got a good point.” That argument did absolutely nothing to change Rhodes’ mind. Instead, he escalated the whole thing by trashing New York pizza outright and declaring his preferred style.
“No, NY Pizza is trash! I said what I said. New Haven Tavern style is the way!”
Rhodes has been on a full-blown pizza crusade lately. He previously fired back after a fan defended supreme pizza and told him, “Don’t be an olive hater. Supreme pizzas are awesome.” Rhodes wasn’t interested in negotiating with the pro-olive crowd, declaring the entire pizza style garbage before ending his verdict with a wild shot at vegetables.
“Supreme pizzas are trash. Stop putting vegetables and crap on there. Veggie tables are demonic.”
Yes, Rhodes wrote “veggie tables,” and whether that was a typo or a new category of evil, his message was crystal clear: keep the produce away from his pizza. The latest round follows Rhodes spotting a black olive-covered slice posted by the Retro Highway account. When the account asked followers, “Black olive slice, are you in?” Rhodes handed down an immediate sentence.
“U belong in prison.”
Black olives aren’t the only topping on Rhodes’ hit list. After someone tagged him in a pickle-covered pizza, he begged people to stop dragging him into their food crimes.
“Stop hate tweeting me!!! I am one of the nicest people in the world. Step somewhere else.”
Pineapple has already been rejected too. When Jordynne Grace showed off a pepperoni-and-pineapple slice, Rhodes didn’t even pretend to consider it.
“Umm……NO!!!! That ain’t pizza.”
Rhodes has now gone from attacking individual toppings to taking a shot at New York pizza altogether. Pickles, pineapple, black olives, supreme pizza and now New York-style pizza have all caught fire from Rhodes, while New Haven Tavern style apparently sits alone at the top of his pizza rankings.
