Donald Trump appears to have mixed up Hulk Hogan with one of WWE’s old parody characters while paying tribute to the late wrestling icon online.
On Truth Social, Trump posted a message that read:
“We all miss the Huckster!”
The post also included a photo of Hulk Hogan, despite “The Huckster” actually being a parody version of Hogan that WWE used during the 1990s while Hogan was competing in WCW.
For longtime wrestling fans, the mistake instantly stood out. The Huckster was part of WWE’s infamous Billionaire Ted skits, which mocked WCW and Ted Turner during the height of the Monday Night Wars. WWE also featured “The Nacho Man,” a parody of Randy Savage, alongside Billionaire Ted himself. The parody characters even appeared in a fake “match” at WrestleMania 12 with Billionaire Ted acting as the referee.
Hulk Hogan, meanwhile, remained one of the biggest stars in wrestling history long after those skits aired. Hogan passed away on July 24, 2024, and tributes to the WWE Hall of Famer have continued since his death.
Trump and Hogan shared a longtime public friendship over the years, making the accidental reference to WWE’s parody character even more noticeable to wrestling fans online.
The post quickly started circulating across social media as fans reacted to Trump apparently confusing Hulk Hogan with one of WWE’s old comedic spoofs from the WCW rivalry era.
