Dominik Mysterio has spent years getting booed out of buildings, but apparently Dirty Dom has entered a completely different phase of his WWE career.
During a new interview with Unlikely during TripleMania weekend in Las Vegas, Dominik was reminded just how much his relationship with fans has changed over the last two years. The last time he appeared on the show, Dominik was still leaning into the fact that plenty of fans couldn’t stand him.
Now, the interviewer pointed out that things have gone in a wildly different direction, telling Dominik he had gone from being hated to becoming “damn near a sex symbol.” Dominik didn’t exactly rush to deny it. Instead, the AAA Mega Champion played it cool and said he’s simply continuing to live life as Dirty Dom.
“I don’t even know. I’m just doing my thing. I’m just living every day as Dirty Dom does. And, you know, as the Triple A Mega Champion, so, I mean, you said it, not me.”
Dominik then made it clear he’s enjoying exactly where things stand right now, including having “Wita” still alongside him.
“I’m just enjoying life with my Wita still by my side, you know.”
It’s a pretty wild turnaround considering Dominik spent a huge portion of his Judgment Day run trying to generate as much hatred from WWE crowds as humanly possible. Those boos haven’t completely disappeared, but Dirty Dom has clearly developed a massive fan base of his own along the way.
Dominik doesn’t seem too interested in analyzing how he went from one of WWE’s biggest heat magnets to getting called a sex symbol. As far as he’s concerned, he’s the AAA Mega Champion, Dirty Dom is still Dirty Dom, and life is going pretty damn well.
