Deonna Purrazzo just gave fans a scary reminder that wrestlers deal with a lot more than dumb comments online.
The AEW star jumped into the conversation after Jordynne Grace warned fans about getting weird over where wrestlers live, and Deonna did not come with some vague “people are creepy” story. She had a real one.
Purrazzo said a man drove two hours from Connecticut to meet her at WrestleCon because he believed they were in a relationship. The problem was, he had been catfished. Deonna said she had to gently tell him he was not actually talking to her. Then it got worse. Deonna said the same man came back the next day to watch her wrestle at a local show.
“Last August, a man drove 2 hrs from CT to meet me at WrestleCon, thinking we were in a relationship. I had let him down gently that he had been catfished.”
“The next day, he drove back to CT to watch me wrestle at a local show.”
That is not just awkward fan behavior. That is a guy crossing state lines twice because he thought a fake online relationship was real. Purrazzo said she tried to get the whole thing documented after she got home by calling Orlando Police. She wanted a report filed because the man had already traveled across state lines twice to see her, but she said police told her they could not file anything because the incident did not happen in Florida. Then Deonna made it very clear why she stays ready now.
“I called the Orlando Police to file a report when I got home bc I wanted it documented this man already traveled across state lines TWICE to see me. They told me since the incident didn’t happen in FL, they couldn’t file a report.”
“This is why I train with firearms.
This is why I carry pepper spray.
This is why I have an alarm on my keychain.”
That whole story came after Jordynne Grace posted a video about trying to stuff more trash into her can so she would not get charged for an extra one. A fan noticed her house in the background and made a comment about wrestlers wondering how fans find out where they live. Grace fired back fast and did not sugarcoat the warning.
“Now wrestlers are wondering how fans find out where they live with the houses in the backround”
“come to my house if you want. I have seven dogs and a gun.”
She later added that people in the public eye should have some kind of security because keeping your address off the internet is almost impossible.
“Anyone in the public eye should have some type of security.
There are too many people with evil intentions and it’s virtually impossible to scrub your address from the internet.”
Bottom line, Deonna Purrazzo’s story is creepy as hell. A man thought he was dating her, drove across state lines to see her, came back again the next day, and she still could not get a police report filed where she lived. That explains real fast why she trains with firearms, carries pepper spray, and keeps an alarm on her keychain.
