Darby Allin’s latest AEW promo got a little more realistic than anyone expected.
The former TNT Champion revealed on his Instagram Story that two real fire trucks showed up outside his home while he was filming a segment for AEW Collision involving Kevin Knight after someone apparently believed his house had blown up. Sharing a photo of the fire trucks parked outside, Allin wrote:
“When 2 fire trucks show up cause your filming a promo and they think your house blew up!”
As it turns out, the concern wasn’t completely unfounded. Allin later posted a handwritten explanation revealing exactly what happened during filming, making it clear the massive flames were part of an AEW production—not an actual emergency.
“Filming a TV project for my Job AEW. A wrestling show on TNT have my flame thrower and poured gas inside the car and lit it on FIRE.”
Based on Allin’s explanation, the stunt involved a flamethrower, gasoline and a car being intentionally set ablaze for the television shoot—enough to convince at least one person nearby that something had gone seriously wrong.
Fortunately, there was no real disaster to deal with. Instead, firefighters arrived only to discover they had interrupted the filming of an AEW promo. Knowing Darby Allin, turning a wrestling segment into something that looks like a real-life explosion is probably exactly the kind of reaction he was hoping for.
