Conor McGregor’s recent UFC return ended in disaster with another serious leg injury. Now Danhausen says that it wasn’t bad luck at all, claiming the UFC superstar—and even Drake—have both fallen victim to one of his infamous curses.
While speaking with Complex, Danhausen was asked who he plans to curse next after targeting Liv Morgan. The conversation quickly shifted to McGregor, whose comeback against Max Holloway lasted just 69 seconds before a gruesome leg injury forced the fight to be stopped. McGregor has since confirmed he’ll undergo surgery before attempting another return.
When asked if he had anything to do with McGregor’s misfortune, Danhausen gave a very Danhausen answer.
“Some would say possibly. Maybe. Yes.”
Asked why he would curse the former two-division UFC champion, Danhausen didn’t need a long explanation: “Very evil.” The interview then turned to another famous name who has developed an unfortunate reputation whenever he places a big sports bet—Drake.
The interviewer pointed out that countless fans lost money backing McGregor, including the rapper, who reportedly dropped $1 million betting on one of McGregor’s fights. Danhausen seemed more amused than sympathetic as he said: “That’s pretty good.”
When the interviewer said that Drake must be cursed too, Danhausen happily embraced the idea and expanded his growing list of supernatural victims.
“Drake is cursed. Conor McGregor’s cursed. Uh, I don’t know. Let’s fire off some people. I’ll curse them.”
Danhausen has made claiming responsibility for famous people’s bad luck one of his favorite running gags, and McGregor’s setback only gave him another opportunity to lean into it. Whether it’s a UFC legend suffering another heartbreaking injury or one of the world’s biggest rappers losing a reported seven-figure bet, Danhausen insists they may have something in common—they’ve both been cursed.
