Scott Hall’s ex-wife Dana Hall just dropped a brutal story about what things were really like behind closed doors — and she says one drunken fight ended with the WWE Hall of Famer hitting her with a broom.
Dana opened up during an appearance on Monte & The Pharaoh, where the conversation moved away from Razor Ramon, the nWo and packed arenas and straight into Scott’s problems with pills and alcohol.
According to Dana, those issues weren’t something that suddenly appeared once Scott became a massive wrestling star. She says the pill use was already happening before their son Cody Hall was even born, and she claims medication would be sent directly to their house while Scott was also drinking.
“Well, I mean, yeah, there would be—he was taking the pills from the very beginning. He did that in the very beginning, like before Cody was even born. And then, you know, pills would come to the house, like doctors would send, cuz they had like a doctor on staff that would just medicate everybody, and they would—he would get these Houseion pills or something, I don’t know. And he would drink with them.”
“And there was things that happened between the both of us that happened when he was taking those pills and drinking before Cody was even born, too. And I mean, he would have his injuries and whatnot, but like I said, I didn’t watch it so much, so I didn’t like really understand.”
That last part immediately got the hosts’ attention. They asked Dana flat-out if she was saying things had become abusive between them. Her answer got dark fast. Dana said Scott was a bad drunk and that things could get ugly when he was drinking. Then she revealed one fight that she says crossed the line physically.
“There were just, you know, he would—he was not the best drunk. You know, when he would go places and he was drunk, it was not a pretty sight. Like, he would just do—there was just instances.”
“I mean, we did have a fight one time and he hit me with like a broom and I had to go over to his friend’s house and get help and whatnot.”
Dana didn’t try to make it sound like physical violence was constantly happening between them. Instead, she said Scott’s abuse toward her was more often verbal when he was intoxicated — but she made it clear that drinking could bring out a nasty side of him.
“But just, you know, he—he was more verbally abusive with me when he was like that than physically abusive.”
“I think he got the physical out other places. So, he—but he could be very—he could be very ugly when he was drinking.”
The interview kept digging. When steroids and human growth hormone came up, Dana said Scott had used those during an earlier period too. By that point, she admitted she wasn’t exactly confronting every warning sign head-on. She says there was so much chaos happening that sometimes she just tried not to look at it.
“I tried to like look away. You know what I mean? Like I tried to look away. There was just too much going on. Like he decided to ride this ride. I was there with him. I loved him. So, I rode the ride with him till I couldn’t ride it anymore.”
“And it was a long roller coaster ride, let me tell you that. Like, it was really—it wasn’t fun.”
Scott Hall became one of the coolest and most influential stars wrestling ever produced, but Dana’s story makes it clear the guy fans saw walking through the curtain wasn’t always the guy she dealt with at home. According to her, the partying, pills and drinking were already creating serious problems long before the public understood just how bad things had gotten.
