M Punk says he was overwhelmed by the love he received in Chicago after WWE x AAA Worlds Collide. He took to Instagram Stories after the event to thank the fans and everyone who helped make the night happen.
Punk said the experience left him searching for the right words. He made one thing clear: the fans’ support meant everything to him.
“I find myself overwhelmed once again. I don’t have the words to properly express what it feels like to experience such a magical night. I want you to know my gratitude knows no bounds. I am nothing with the fans. Chicago. I love you. A perfect night. Cultures came together and we celebrated. One universal language. Wrestling. Thank you to everyone who came out. All the hard work from the boys. Respect and love. Until next time. This fire burns. Always.”
Punk’s message came after he teamed with Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano to defeat JD McDonagh, Omos and Dominik Mysterio. The Chicago crowd also saw him make a surprise entrance to “This Fire Burns,” but Punk’s post-event message put the spotlight on the people in the arena and the crew who brought the show together.
