CM Punk’s WrestleMania 42 weekend incident with a fan at the MGM Grand made plenty of headlines, but a new update suggests WWE isn’t taking action against him.
In an update following the situation that unfolded during WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, Fightful Select reports that Punk has not faced any disciplinary action from WWE related to the confrontation that went viral online.
The outlet made it clear that, despite the attention surrounding the incident and multiple reports about what happened inside the MGM Grand, there has been no punishment issued internally.
“CM Punk faced no disciplinary action for the fan incident during WrestleMania week.”
The update comes after video circulated showing Punk knocking a fan’s phone down near the elevators at the MGM Grand, which led to security stepping in to separate those involved. The fan later stated publicly that he wasn’t looking to press charges and instead wanted a direct apology from Punk.
Earlier reports also included claims from Billi Bhatti that there may have been two separate confrontations that night, including an alleged earlier incident inside the lobby that was reportedly captured on hotel surveillance. Police were said to have reviewed footage from the situations, though no confirmed charges have been announced.
The situation drew additional attention after claims surfaced that the fan involved in the filmed incident believed he lost his job following the viral video. However, even with those claims and the widespread attention the situation received online, WWE reportedly has not taken disciplinary steps against Punk.
For now, the situation appears to remain closed from WWE’s side, at least internally, unless new details surface or outside action changes the circumstances.
