There’s some nervous energy backstage in WWE right now as speculation about possible talent cuts starts making the rounds.

Fightful Select reports that talk of roster cuts has spread enough internally that some talent are already worried, even though nothing has been confirmed yet. As of now, there’s no solid word that releases are actually happening, but the uncertainty alone appears to have people paying attention. The report made it clear that the speculation has reached a noticeable level among wrestlers.

“There is huge speculation about talent cuts today in WWE, to the point talent are worried. We have not heard anything regarding that, and almost never do until they happen.”

Part of the concern comes from several names not being scheduled backstage for Friday’s SmackDown. That detail raised eyebrows internally, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything is about to happen. It also noted that at least one absence was already planned well ahead of time, adding context to the situation.

“We have been told a number of talent aren't being brought in to Smackdown on Friday, but that includes Jade Cargill, who requested this day off quite a while back, we're told.”

Right now, nothing has been confirmed, but speculation alone is enough to make people uneasy, especially since WWE cuts have historically come without much warning.

Do you think WWE is actually preparing for roster cuts, or is this just nerves backstage getting ahead of the facts? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
