CM Punk found a very CM Punk way to wish Danhausen a happy birthday—by bringing back one of the strangest moments from WWE’s summer live event tour.

On August 17, Punk took to Instagram Stories to celebrate Danhausen’s birthday and posted a photo of himself kissing Danhausen in the ring. Punk kept the message short, writing:

“Happy birthday, demon child.”

The photo came from a WWE live event in Bakersfield back in July, when Punk and Cody Rhodes were supposed to look like they wanted to tear each other apart. Danhausen stepped into the middle of the situation, only for things to go completely off the rails.

Danhausen entered the ring with a microphone as Punk and Rhodes got into another heated faceoff. Before he could even speak, Punk grabbed him and kissed him right on the lips. Cody then decided he wasn’t going to be left out and kissed Danhausen too.

Punk ended up telling the Bakersfield crowd, “I’m never gonna forget Bakersfield,” and apparently he really didn’t. The whole thing came one night after Danhausen had already inserted himself into Punk and Rhodes’ issues at another WWE live event in Stockton, where he ran out wearing only a towel to stop them from fighting.

More than a month later, Punk dug the kiss back up for Danhausen’s birthday and made sure everyone got another look at it. No cake, no balloons—just a photo of Punk planting one on the “demon child.”

What do you think about CM Punk using the Danhausen kiss for his birthday message? Let us know what you think and leave your feedback in the comments.
