WWE has revealed what will close the August 25 episode of NXT, and they’re throwing both Heatwave championship programs into the ring at the same time.
NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced that tonight’s show will end with a Heat Wave Summit featuring NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu, along with NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey and Kelani Jordan.
D’Angelo is set to defend the NXT Championship against Waller, Montana and Fatu in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Heatwave, while Grey will put the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Jordan. Stone revealed the closing segment in an afternoon update ahead of the live broadcast.
“Tonight is the last show before Heat Wave. So I want to end the night doing something special. We’re going to have a Heat Wave Summit to end the night.”
Stone then confirmed that everybody from both championship matches will be in the ring together. And Stone clearly isn’t interested in keeping things calm.
“Everyone from the NXT Championship match is going to be in the ring. Everyone from the NXT Women’s Championship match is going to be in the ring, which means things might get a little chaotic.”
“But guess what? That’s the way we like doing things around here. Anything can happen. It’s live on The CW. Do not miss it. And that is set in stone.”
That means Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, Cruz Montana, Zilla Fatu, Kendal Grey and Kelani Jordan will all be part of the final segment before NXT goes off the air.
The August 25 show also features Rey Fenix defending the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against EK Prosper, Dion Lennox battling Saquon Shugars inside a Weaponized Steel Cage, and Zaria facing Kali Armstrong.
Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar will also team against BirthRight’s Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Uriah Connors and Charlie Dempsey. But WWE is saving its Heatwave title chaos for last.
With six wrestlers involved in two championship matches all sharing the ring, Stone is basically inviting the whole thing to go off the rails before NXT hits the airwaves for Heatwave.
