Chris Jericho and Nick Wayne are getting another crack at each other — and AEW has officially locked the rematch in for Grand Slam France.
AEW confirmed the match for the October 10 episode of Collision, which will be taped on October 6 in Paris as part of AEW Grand Slam France. This is the first match officially announced for the Collision side of the event, with Jericho and Wayne picking up right where they left off after their first fight on the September 16 episode of Dynamite.
Jericho won that first match, but things got ugly fast afterward. As Ringside News previously covered, Wayne snapped after the loss and attacked Jericho with a chair, making it obvious this feud was nowhere near finished. There had already been talk of a rematch after the way the first match ended, and now AEW is officially running it back.
AEW pushed the revenge angle hard when announcing the match, saying Wayne hasn’t been able to accept losing the first time and now wants to prove Jericho has nothing left to teach him.
“Jericho beat Wayne in their first match and Nick hasn’t been able to accept it. Now, Wayne is demanding a rematch to prove that Jericho has nothing left to teach him!”
That gives Wayne a chance to settle the score after Jericho took the first win, while Jericho now gets another opportunity to prove the veteran still has the kid’s number.
Jericho vs. Wayne will air on AEW Grand Slam France Collision on Saturday, October 10 at 8 PM ET. With their first match ending with Jericho getting the win and Wayne leaving him wrecked afterward, this one already has plenty of bad blood attached to it.
What do you think happens in the Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne rematch at AEW Grand Slam France Collision? Do you see Wayne evening the score, or does Jericho make it 2-0? Leave your feedback in the comments.
