Chris Jericho made sure PAC wasn’t forgotten during the AEW Grand Slam France tapings. After his match with Nick Wayne, Jericho paused the action to lead an emotional tribute to his late friend that had the entire crowd joining in.
During the October 6 Collision tapings for AEW Grand Slam France in Paris, Jericho was defeated by Nick Wayne. Instead of immediately heading backstage, he remained in the ring and paid tribute to PAC, who passed away at the age of 40.
Jericho pulled out a sign that read “Forever our Bastard” in honor of PAC before having AEW play his entrance music throughout the arena. As PAC’s theme echoed through the building, fans responded by turning on their phone flashlights and cheering loudly, creating an emotional moment as they honored one of AEW’s most beloved stars.
The tribute comes less than a week after AEW dedicated the September 30 episode of Dynamite entirely to PAC. The company rewrote the show from the ground up, replacing its original plans with tribute matches, testimonials and celebrations of Benjamin Satterley’s life and career.
Jericho’s gesture in France showed that those tributes haven’t stopped with the special Dynamite episode. Even as AEW moves forward with its regular programming, the company continues finding ways to honor PAC’s legacy, and the reaction from the Paris crowd made it clear that “The Bastard” won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
