Chris Jericho has built a reputation for handling himself inside the ring, but apparently that attitude doesn’t disappear once the show is over. Guitarist Frank Sidoris shared one wild story he heard from the road that involved Jericho, an unwanted visitor and a very WWE-style solution to the problem.
During an appearance on The O Show, Sidoris recalled hearing about an incident involving Jericho’s band while they were touring. He wasn’t personally on that particular tour, so he made it clear he was repeating a story he had heard about someone allegedly getting onto the band’s tour bus without permission.
“A cool, fun story that I heard from the road a long time ago. Some guy—it was cool because it just kind of shows that Chris will throw down if he has to actually fight someone. So his band was on, and I don’t know if some guy, some fan, tried to jump onto his bus, like open the door, got on the bus and did something, and then ran away. And Chris was just coming onto the bus, I believe.”
According to the story Sidoris heard, Jericho didn’t wait around for somebody else to handle the situation. He allegedly took off after the guy himself and eventually caught up with him.
“He legitimately chased this dude down and speared him, like full blast, and the guy was removed.”
That’s apparently the part of the story that really stuck with Sidoris. Instead of yelling for security, Jericho allegedly decided he was perfectly capable of playing that role himself.
“But it was incredible that there was no, like, ‘I need security.’ He’s like, ‘I am security.’ It’s pretty impressive, dude.”
Sidoris also clarified that the alleged spear wasn’t some attempt to seriously hurt the guy. As he told the story, Jericho simply took him down hard enough to end the situation, which apparently earned plenty of respect from the people who witnessed it.
“Yeah. He didn’t kill the guy. Didn’t he just knock the wind out of him? Just took him out, and everyone was just like, ‘Bravo, man. That’s respectable.’”
Jericho has spent years blending wrestling and rock ’n’ roll, but apparently sometimes those two worlds collide in the most literal way possible. Getting onto his tour bus without permission allegedly ended with the kind of takedown you’d normally expect to see inside a wrestling ring, not backstage at a concert.
Would you have expected Chris Jericho to personally chase someone down instead of waiting for security to handle it? Let us know what you think in the comments.
