Charlotte Flair is finally explaining what really damaged her friendship with Becky Lynch, and she says it came down to comments that crossed a personal line.

During the latest episode of WWE Rivals on A&E, focused on Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, Flair revealed that part of their falling out stemmed from Lynch targeting her breasts in storyline insults. Flair said the remarks hurt because Lynch knew about her long-running body image struggles.

“When she used my breasts in the tweet—I’ve had body image issues my whole life, and if anyone knows how hard I’ve worked, it was her. I felt used as a friend.”

Lynch admitted she went too far online, but explained that she was trying to make the feud feel real and get the audience invested. Still, she acknowledged that her approach can sometimes push past the line.

“I admittedly went too far on social media, but I was trying to make it as real as possible and wanted the crowd to care. But sometimes I can go a bit too far—people can get upset with me.”

The Queen of WWE then pointed to another specific insult that stuck with her. She said Lynch calling her “plastic” helped make body-shaming part of the audience reaction toward her. She added that she didn’t even know Lynch was going to call her that.

“‘You plastic-faced dope.’ I didn’t know she was going to say that. So she made calling me plastic—and the fans body-shaming me—cool.”

The new comments give more context to the long-discussed heat between Flair and Lynch. Their relationship publicly fractured during their 2021 SmackDown title-exchange segment, which led to a heated backstage confrontation and years of speculation about where things went wrong.

Lynch previously addressed their reconciliation while speaking with Adam Silverstein on Getting Over: Wrestling Podcast. She said the passing of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and other people close to her helped put their issues into perspective.

“…Having that hostility towards somebody kind of weighs on you, you know what I mean? I think life is too short for that and we witnessed that. We’ve seen the tragic passing of people that went far too young, like Bray Wyatt, like Luke Harper, and other friends who passed away that were very close to me in the last few months too, and so all of those things I think as you grow and mature you realize that these petty differences aren’t worth the toxicity it leaves in you and the weight that it carries.”

Flair and Lynch have since repaired their relationship, but this WWE Rivals episode shows how personal the feud became behind the scenes. For Flair, the issue was not just trash talk. It was that someone she considered a friend used something deeply sensitive against her in public.

Do you think Becky Lynch went too far with her comments about Charlotte Flair, or was it just part of building a heated WWE feud? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
