Chad Gable has a favorite movie, and his pick is definitely not some feel-good Disney flick. The WWE star revealed that American Psycho sits at the top of his list—and he’s apparently been hooked on the Patrick Bateman classic since he was probably too young to be watching it in the first place.
During an interview with WittyWhittier, Gable took part in a rapid-fire round and was asked to name his favorite movie of all time. He didn’t need a top three or much time to think about it, immediately naming American Psycho and Christian Bale’s Patrick Bateman character.
Gable explained that he first saw the movie when he was younger and admitted he probably had no business watching it at that age. Still, the movie stuck with him, and his appreciation for it clearly never went away.
“American Psycho. Patrick Bateman, the main character. I saw it when I was young—young enough where I probably shouldn’t have been watching it yet at that time—but it just stuck with me for some reason.”
Gable’s love for the movie goes beyond simply throwing it on once in a while. He revealed that he actually has an American Psycho poster hanging inside his gym and praised the work that went into making the film.
“I love it. I have that poster in my gym. I love it. I don’t know, just the craftsmanship that went into it. I love that movie.”
It’s certainly an interesting pick from Gable, especially considering how dark American Psycho gets. Either way, the movie clearly made a lasting impression on him years ago, and Patrick Bateman still has a spot on the wall while Gable is getting his workouts in.
