Brock Lesnar’s WWE theme has never needed lyrics to let people know trouble is coming — but a new fan edit decided to give “The Next Big Thing” some words anyway, and somehow it works.
Fan account @left2reigns shared a 51-second video asking one simple question: “WHAT IF Brock Lesnar’s theme song had lyrics?” The clip takes Lesnar’s classic Jim Johnston entrance music and adds vocals over the pounding instrumental while cutting between some of The Beast’s most intense WWE entrances.
The fan-made lyrical version, with music credited to David Bartolome, lines up with Lesnar’s pyro, slow walks to the ring and those moments where the entire crowd knows somebody is about to get wrecked. That’s probably why wrestling fans have been eating it up. The clip has already pulled in close to 200,000 views on Twitter, but the bigger takeaway is how naturally the lyrics fit a theme WWE fans have only ever known as an instrumental.
Lesnar’s entrance music is already one of the most recognizable themes WWE has ever used, so changing it for real would probably be asking for trouble. Still, this edit gives fans a pretty fun look at what “The Next Big Thing” might have sounded like if WWE had gone the full song route.
Would Brock Lesnar’s theme actually be better with lyrics, or is the original instrumental impossible to improve? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
