Brie Bella finally got the singles match she had been begging WWE for, but the celebration got cut short real quick.

On The Nikki and Brie Show, Brie said she had been pitching for a one-on-one match for a while, so when WWE finally booked her against Lainey Reid on SmackDown, she was fired up. Then she found out the match was only getting around three minutes, and suddenly that big opportunity came with a pretty frustrating catch.

“So I have as everyone saw this past Friday Night Smackdown, I finally got a singles match… I’ve been pitching a while to have a singles match, I’ve been wanting it forever. But so when I finally was like, oh, I get a singles match, I was like super excited. When I heard the times, I was bummed. But also I understand, you know, SmackDown is back to two hours, it’ll be two hours until January. So all of a sudden when you have all these storylines going on SmackDown and it’s a three-hour show and then boom, you get cut down to two hours, you’re back to fighting for TV time and they’re going to condense a lot of stuff. So a part of me understood it. I mean, obviously I won’t lie, I was bummed.”

That wasn’t Brie trying to play victim either. She understood the math. SmackDown is back down to two hours until January, and with so many stories fighting for space, not everyone is going to get the time they want. Still, understanding it and being happy about it are two very different things. Brie admitted she was already annoyed before she even got to the building.

“I’ll admit, like even when I heard my time before I got to the building, I was like, I was pissed. But then I was like, you know what, Brie, look what I got to do for, like, right? Which is so beautiful.”

That is where Brie flipped the whole thing around. She didn’t get the long singles showcase she wanted, but she also wasn’t about to waste the few minutes WWE handed her.

“You can give me s***and I’m going to make something out of it… I’ve always been used to obstacles. It’s like I’m the type of person, it’s like, give me lemons, I’ll make lemonade.”

So yeah, Brie wanted more time. She was angry when she found out she wasn’t getting it. But instead of letting that kill the moment, she treated it like another obstacle and made sure she got something out of the match anyway.
