Brandi Rhodes isn’t exactly a fan of Cody Rhodes’ giant American Nightmare neck tattoo—at least not at that size.

Cody debuted the red, white and blue tattoo in February 2020 as he made his entrance for a match against MJF at AEW Revolution. The ink features the skull-and-wings logo tied to his American Nightmare persona and covers a large portion of the right side of his neck.

While speaking with Carmelo Hayes on Shot of Brandi, Brandi revealed what she told Cody about the tattoo. She respected his right to get it, but made it clear that she thought the design was too large.

“Here’s what I said to Cody about the neck tattoo, ‘It’s your body. You can do what you want with your body. However, I wouldn’t do it quite that large if it were me.’”

Brandi stopped short of saying she completely hates the tattoo. Still, her choice of words made it obvious that the massive size wouldn’t have been her call.

“I don’t not like it. I think it’s his personality. He did it because he’s that kind of person—he represents what he represents all the time.”

Hayes then mentioned Cody’s claim that he didn’t know the finished tattoo would be so big. Brandi appeared to have a hard time buying that explanation, raising more questions about exactly what Cody expected before getting into the chair.

Cody Rhodes’ neck tattoo has become one of the most recognizable pieces of ink in wrestling, but Brandi’s verdict is pretty clear: Cody can do what he wants with his body, though she would have preferred a much smaller version.

Do you agree with Brandi Rhodes that Cody’s American Nightmare neck tattoo is too large, or do you think the bold design fits him? Leave your feedback in the comments.
