Blake Monroe’s recent NXT storyline has people talking about her future, and during a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio, there was clear speculation that her time in NXT could already be winding down.

The conversation came up while reviewing a strange backstage segment involving Monroe and the Vanity Project on the April 21 WWE NXT episode. The storyline centered around a staged date angle that ultimately left Monroe standing alone, which sparked questions about whether WWE was setting up an exit from NXT. While breaking down the segment from NXT, Bryan Alvarez explained how the situation unfolded and why it stood out as unusual booking.

“We had a segment where Blake Monroe was backstage with a vanity project. They decided they were gonna go on a date. She said that was fine. Turns out that Shiloh Hill had hacked the phone, so they went on a fake date. They ended up getting stood up.”

That sequence led directly into speculation about Monroe’s direction, with Dave Meltzer noting that the way the story was structured looked like more than just a random segment.

“So they. They set them up as a unit. And it appears she's going to go into the main roster. Right.”

Bryan Alvarez agreed with that read of the situation, adding that the booking felt like something WWE often does when a talent is preparing to move up.

“It does look like she's being called up.”

Another detail that caught attention during the discussion was Monroe’s appearance change, which Meltzer pointed out as something worth noting when evaluating potential roster movement.

“She changed her look too.”

Alvarez added that the visual change was tied to the presentation around her recent match, but it still added to the overall sense that WWE may be shifting her direction.

“Yeah, they. Well, it was for the coffin match. I guess it was her funeral attire.”

If Monroe is indeed headed to the main roster, it would follow a familiar WWE pattern where short-term NXT storylines quietly close before a talent transitions to RAW or SmackDown. That formula has been used countless times, and this situation fits that mold closely.
