On the second night of the 2024 WWE Draft on RAW, SmackDown selected Blair Davenport, officially marking the end of her tenure in NXT. However, WWE really hasn’t done much with her for a long time now and it appears there is a reason for her current absence from television.
According to Chris Featherstone, who has broken several stories lately, WWE is looking for the right storyline to showcase Blair Davenport on SmackDown, where the roster is highly competitive.
Feathrestone noted that she has been discussed as someone who could benefit from the upcoming three-hour format, which was previously reported and now confirmed again. The company is working on a plan to ensure she gets the right opportunity to shine.
“Update on Davenport: The right story will arise where she will shine. Landscape on SmackDown is very valuable. She has been in discussions as someone to benefit from the 3-hour format (which I already reported, but can confirm again). So, they are working on the right story to insert her in so she can be properly showcased.”
Blair Davenport’s last match was in late November, where she competed in a Triple Threat match in the first round of the WWE Women’s United States Title Tournament but lost to Chelsea Green. It’s unclear when WWE will bring back Blair Davenport, but they clearly see potential in her and are waiting for the right opportunity. With SmackDown expanding, she could be in line for a major push soon as fans will definitely want that to happen.
Do you believe WWE is handling Blair Davenport’s main roster transition the right way, or should she already be in a storyline? What type of feud or role do you think would suit her best on SmackDown? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
