Big E is completely behind Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed after their jump to AEW. One day after The New Level made their surprise debut at All In, Big E called his longtime New Day brothers “living legends” who were undervalued.
The comment came on Instagram after a fan jokingly asked about Kingston and Creed going all the way to London. Big E didn’t need many words to make his feelings clear. That “undervalued” part stands out, especially with everything that has come out since Kingston and Creed left WWE.
“If you’re two living legends that are undervalued, sometimes you have to go to London!”
The two parted ways with WWE in May and eventually landed in AEW at All In on August 30. They didn’t exactly ease themselves into their new company either. The New Level teamed with Swerve Strickland on their first night and immediately walked away with the AEW World Trios Championships.
There’s also some regret back in WWE about letting them go. TC of WrestleVotes revealed that people within WWE never wanted to lose Kingston and Creed, with one source even questioning whether TKO mishandled the situation.
Creed has already said there wasn’t some nasty breakup behind their WWE exit. He simply felt the relationship had run its course, while Kingston made it clear that getting into AEW’s tag team division was a major reason they made the move.
Big E isn’t blaming WWE or TKO for undervaluing them, but he clearly believes Kingston and Creed deserved more. Now his old New Day brothers are in AEW, already holding championships, and Big E seems more than happy to watch them bet on themselves.
