Ben Bishop made a memorable first impression at TNA Bound For Glory, but it doesn’t look like his surprise debut came with a contract.

According to Fightful Select, Bishop had not signed with TNA as of Bound For Glory despite making his surprise appearance in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. However, the report added that his performance left a strong impression on people within the company.

That’s an encouraging development considering everything Bishop went through before finally appearing on TNA television. We previously reported that TNA had been discussing him internally for well over a year, with multiple people pushing for him while others questioned his readiness and even his social media presence. Tommy Dreamer also revealed he had been working closely with Bishop after an earlier tryout that didn’t go well.

Now, it sounds like Bishop may have helped his own cause. While there’s still no word on whether TNA plans to offer him a deal, making a positive impression during one of the company’s biggest shows of the year certainly doesn’t hurt his chances.

Do you think TNA should sign Ben Bishop after his Bound For Glory debut, or would you like to see him continue proving himself first? Let us know in the comments below.
