The Bella Twins may have had a pretty big decision on their minds during SummerSlam weekend. Nikki Bella revealed she and Brie were having conversations about knowing when something isn’t working anymore—and when it’s time to close the door and walk away.
Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki didn’t reveal what those conversations were actually about. She did, however, admit that she and Brie had been discussing situations that may still have an opening but aren’t really working out.
“Sometimes doors don’t even have to be closed to see the open ones. And Brie and I were in discussion with this and I’m like, sometimes things just aren’t working out. Maybe they’re, like, kind of working out, but they’re not working out and there’s always gonna be some type of opening. And sometimes I feel like we actually need to even close that door. And I think we tend to stay in things because—I mean, one, comfort’s a big thing, right? And stability. I’m really big with that.”
Walking away isn’t necessarily easy for Nikki. She admitted that while she’s willing to take risks, she’s also someone who likes knowing there’s some security underneath her before making a move.
“I am, I take risk, but I take risk knowing that, like, I’m secure in a lot of things. Like, I’ve just always been that person, I think, ’cause I’ve seen loss and I know what it’s like to have $5 in the bank account or to be stressed. So I tend to do moves to make sure there’s security there.”
Then came the interesting part. Nikki specifically brought up SummerSlam weekend and revealed she and Brie had been talking with other people about where they were supposedly meant to go next.
“But it’s crazy because, you know, just even with Brie, SummerSlam weekend and talking to other people and like, ‘Well, we’re supposed to go in this direction. We’re supposed to go in that direction.’ You know, sometimes we gotta shut doors and others will be open and we gotta let go of the things you fail at.”
Nikki stopped there. She didn’t say what she and Brie were considering walking away from, who those other conversations involved or what those different “directions” actually were.
That leaves the timing doing plenty of the talking. The Bella Twins were having those conversations during SummerSlam weekend, and whatever was on the table had Nikki thinking about whether it was time to stop waiting for something to work and simply shut the door herself.
