Becky Lynch is making it very clear that her upcoming match against Sol Ruca will not be for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

During the May 18 episode of WWE Raw, Ruca confronted Lynch and challenged her directly. The segment quickly turned heated as Lynch verbally tore into the NXT star before agreeing to face her at this Saturday’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

However, while the match was officially booked on RAW, Lynch never agreed to put the title on the line during the segment. Despite that, WWE later began advertising the match as being for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship after the show, creating immediate confusion among fans online.

Now Lynch has personally addressed the situation and accused wrestling media of pushing “misinformation” about the match. Taking to Twitter, Lynch completely shut down the idea that Ruca had earned a title opportunity: “There seems to be misinformation regarding my Saturday Nights Main Event match!” Lynch then mocked the media coverage surrounding the situation while insisting she already made her stance clear on RAW.

“(The biased wrestling media is pushing the agenda that the title should be on the line!!) NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!”

She continued by directly burying Ruca’s credentials and making it clear she does not view the NXT standout as deserving of a championship opportunity yet.

“I CLEARLY stated that SUCKER Sol Ruca has done NOTHING to earn a shot at MY VERY PRESTIGIOUS IC TITLE!!”

Lynch then framed the match itself as more of a test for Sol Ruca than a championship defense.

“We will see if she can hang with the GREATEST female wrestler of all time. A LOT of people don’t think she will, but we will see!! Thank you for your attention on this matter – BTB”

At this point, the match is once again being presented as a non-title bout despite WWE briefly promoting it otherwise after RAW went off the air. Whether the company eventually changes course again before Saturday remains to be seen, but Becky Lynch herself has now publicly clarified where things stand heading into the event.
