Baron Corbin was inches from escaping the steel cage when the door became a weapon. His United States Championship match against Trick Williams opened the September 25, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown, and Yachty made sure Corbin never got through that opening.
Corbin had spent much of the match throwing Trick into the cage. The two later traded punches at the top before Corbin caught Trick in a guillotine and brought him crashing down with a superplex.
Then Corbin hit a chokeslam and called for the door. As he crawled toward it, Yachty slammed it into his head. Trick immediately hit a jumping knee, but Corbin somehow kicked out.
Corbin answered with a German suplex and Deep Six, only for Trick to escape the End of Days. Williams drove Corbin into the cage and hit three uranages, pinning him after the last one to retain the United States Championship.
Trick still had to finish the fight, but Corbin’s escape attempt was stopped by someone outside the cage. Does Corbin have a case for another title shot after that?
