Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s Championship win got plenty of people talking, and apparently that didn’t stop once she went backstage. Jordan has now revealed what she heard from the WWE locker room after leaving Heatwave with the title.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Jordan was asked what kind of reaction she received after defeating Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship. She admitted that even some people she doesn’t necessarily consider supporters had something to say about her accomplishment.

“To my face, everyone has said that I’ve earned it. Even the people who may not be my biggest fans, they did say I earned it, and they can’t deny my ability in the ring and my journey to get here.”

Jordan knows what people have been willing to tell her directly, but she has no idea whether those conversations sound the same when she isn’t around. If she ever finds out someone has been saying something different behind her back, Jordan made it clear she won’t take it lightly.

“But behind my back? I don’t know. If I find out, it’s not gonna be good.”

The reaction didn’t only come from people currently around Jordan in NXT. Several women from WWE’s main roster reached out after her championship victory. Roxanne Perez, Maxxine Dupri and Chelsea Green all sent Jordan messages, and she appreciated hearing from people who have already experienced the kind of journey she’s going through now.

“I got messages from other main roster people, like Roxanne. Maxxine messaged me. Also, Chelsea Green messaged me. It’s so cool—they’ve been through what I’m going through, and they reached out to me. And Kiana James shouted me out also!”

Jordan became NXT Women’s Champion by defeating Kendal Grey at Heatwave on August 30. The match ended after Jordan sent Grey headfirst into an exposed turnbuckle before hitting a moonsault for the victory.

It wasn’t exactly the cleanest way to become champion, but Jordan isn’t questioning whether she deserved to get there. Based on what she’s hearing directly from the WWE locker room, apparently plenty of people around her aren’t questioning it either. Jordan knows exactly what everyone is saying to her face. Whether anyone is brave enough to tell a different story when she isn’t around might be another matter.
