WWE ID continues to lose members from its original class. Just days after Marcus Mathers and Laynie Luck announced they were leaving the developmental program, another familiar name has officially confirmed his exit.
On October 12, Sam Holloway took to Twitter and revealed that his time in WWE ID has come to an end after spending the past two years with the program. While his run is over, Holloway made it clear he’s looking at it as the end of one chapter rather than the end of the road.
“My time in the WWE ID Program has come to an end.
Thank you for an incredible two years filled with unforgettable experiences, opportunities, and lessons that will stay with me throughout my career.
I’m beyond grateful for this chapter, but even more excited for what’s ahead.
The work continues and I’m ready to takeover!”
Holloway becomes the latest wrestler from WWE ID’s original group to move on. Marcus Mathers announced his departure earlier this month, saying he planned to jump right back onto the independent wrestling scene, while Laynie Luck also exited the program after a lengthy reign as WWE ID Women’s Champion.
Those departures also follow Veronica Haven’s exit earlier this year, making Holloway yet another talent from the original WWE ID class to leave as the program continues to evolve. At the same time, WWE has continued bringing in new names, showing that while some wrestlers are moving on, others are still getting their opportunity through the initiative.
With another original member now gone, it’ll be interesting to see who might be next to leave—and who WWE brings in to take their place as the program continues to reshape itself.
