Anna Jay isn’t going anywhere.
During the AEW Redemption media call, Tony Khan confirmed that Jay has extended her contract with the company and still has plenty of time remaining on her new deal.
Khan also revealed why fans haven’t seen much of Jay lately. She is currently dealing with an injury and recently underwent an MRI after AEW had hoped to use her on television.
“Anna is in very good standing with us. Anna is out injured right now. I was hoping to book her in recent weeks, and she has an injury. Last week, she was going for an MRI.”
Khan then killed any remaining questions about Jay’s future by confirming that she signed an extension and will remain with AEW.
“She is in good standing and has a lot of time left. She’s extended her contract with AEW. She is going to be staying in AEW.”
That ends months of speculation surrounding Jay’s contract. She previously confirmed that her old deal was nearing its expiration but dismissed nearly everything else being spread about her situation.
“The only thing out of everything that’s been posted that’s true is just that my contract is coming up, but that is it.”
Jay last wrestled on the June 6 episode of AEW Collision, teaming with Tay Melo in a loss to Divine Dominion’s Lena Kross and Megan Bayne. There is still no timetable for her return, but the contract situation is settled. Anna Jay is staying with AEW, and now the only question is when she will be healthy enough to get back in the ring.
