TNA Hall of Famer Angelina Love had plenty to reflect on during her recent Rewind Recap Relive interview, but one moment stood out for longtime fans—the mystery behind one of wrestling’s most bizarre catchphrases: “Let the pigeons loose.”

The phrase, famously shouted by Taz during The Beautiful People’s entrance, became synonymous with the group’s provocative walk to the ring. But despite how iconic it became, even Angelina Love still doesn’t know what the hell it was supposed to mean. When asked if she ever got a straight answer about the phrase’s origin or meaning, Angelina gave a completely honest—and slightly hilarious—response:

“We don’t actually know. I just—something to do with the butt shaking. Just like, ‘Let it all out there, ladies,’ is my best guess. Yeah. And I—it all just worked so well.”

That one line from Taz managed to capture the chaotic, sexy, in-your-face energy of The Beautiful People, even if nobody—including the people it was about—knew what it actually meant. The line lives on in GIFs, memes, and throwback clips, a strange but unforgettable part of TNA lore.

The Beautiful People were always about attitude and presentation, and “let the pigeons loose” became the cherry on top of their over-the-top entrances. From hotel room rehearsals to televised chaos, the group embraced the ridiculous—and it clearly worked.

In the end, maybe not knowing is part of the magic. It didn’t need to make sense—it just needed to feel right. And for fans, it absolutely did.
