Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt never got the reunion they were supposed to have in WWE, and now Bliss is revealing what was planned before everything fell apart. The former WWE Women’s Champion says she was supposed to reunite with Wyatt after their storyline involving Randy Orton, but her pregnancy and Wyatt’s health problems kept that from happening. Sadly, the two never got the chance to work together again before Wyatt’s death in August 2023.
While speaking with Brandi Rhodes on Shot of Brandi, Bliss opened up about her relationship with Wyatt while discussing her favorite Halloween costumes. She picked her dark Alice in Wonderland outfit because she wore it during their Firefly Fun House storyline, which brought back memories of their time together.
Bliss explained that the last time she worked with Wyatt was at WrestleMania, when she turned against him during his match with Randy Orton. That wasn’t supposed to be the end of their story, either. According to Bliss, WWE had plans to bring them back together, but things took a very different turn.
“I never got to have that closure with Bray because the last time I was with him it was WrestleMania and I turned on him against Randy, and then we were supposed to join back together after this one WrestleMania, and then I found out I was pregnant.”
Bliss said Wyatt then became ill, leaving their planned reunion unfinished. With both of them dealing with major changes in their lives, they never found the opportunity to reconnect on WWE television.
“And then he had gotten sick and so he was out for a while, and so it just never, it was like ships in the night, right?”
Even though their WWE storyline never got its intended ending, Bliss said something Wyatt mentioned during an interview stayed with her. He had spoken about their characters always sharing a connection, and those words meant a lot to her after his passing.
“And he did that interview where he was like, ‘Well, Alexa and I will always be connected in some way.’ And I just felt like a sense of comfort.”
Bliss eventually got an opportunity to revisit their work when Universal Orlando created a Bray Wyatt-inspired attraction for Halloween Horror Nights. She was allowed to participate as a scare actor, including spending time in a Firefly Fun House setting where footage of Wyatt played on a television.
That experience brought back some painful memories, but Bliss said it also helped her finally say goodbye.
“I felt like, I finally was able to close that chapter. Right, like it’s over. It’s over. It’s over. It’s done.”
She admitted that being inside the attraction was one of the first times Wyatt’s death truly hit her. Having the chance to return to something they created together gave her a moment she never got in WWE.
“Yeah, and I think that was one of the first times that it actually hit me that he was actually gone and so it was so cool to be able to do that, that Universal let me do that because I was like, I feel like this is me saying goodbye.”
For Bliss, the reunion with Wyatt that was supposed to happen in WWE will always be one of those unfinished stories. While fans never got to see their characters come back together, she was eventually able to find some peace by revisiting the world they helped create.
