AJ Styles agreed with Will Ospreay about Dragon Kid, and somehow that was enough for one fan to start planning an AEW move for him. Styles saw the leap being made and couldn’t believe how quickly things got there.

On September 12, Ospreay took to Twitter and praised Dragon Kid for still performing at a high level at 50 years old, calling the Japanese wrestling veteran one of the greatest: “Actually GOATED” Styles apparently saw nothing controversial about that assessment and replied with one word: “Agreed.”

That was all one fan needed. They responded to Styles by urging him to “jump the ship” and join AEW, even bringing his son Avery Styles into the argument and claiming second and third-generation wrestlers are being treated well there.

“Brother for the love of the game, you gotta jump the ship and join the A-E-DUB. Do it for your own son, look how good the second and third generation are being treated in the DUB.”

Styles wasn’t letting that one go without pointing out just how far the conversation had traveled. He reminded the fan that his entire AEW pitch had somehow started because Styles agreed with Ospreay about Dragon Kid.

“You came up with all of that because I agreed with @WillOspreay on Dragon kid being goated?”

The response is even funnier considering Styles has already explained where he stands on the WWE-versus-AEW conversation. Before retiring from WWE earlier this year, Styles chose to remain with the company rather than make an AEW move. He later explained on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast that he had no interest in tearing AEW down simply because he worked for WWE.

“I’m not going to bash AEW because those guys are doing the exact same thing. They’re trying to be different and doing all these things. I get it. It’s like me. Would we ever see AJ Styles in AEW? Why? I like the company that I work for, despite what everybody else thinks.”

Apparently, even retirement hasn’t completely killed the fantasy booking. Styles gave Dragon Kid his flowers, agreed with Ospreay in a single word, and somehow found himself being told to join AEW for the sake of his son.
