Fans eagerly awaiting the AEW vs. CMLL Dream Match between “Timeless” Toni Storm and La Catalina will need to wait a little longer.
CMLL took to social media to announce that the highly anticipated showdown, originally set for the October 11 edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular, has been postponed.
The cause? Hurricane Milton. The severe weather conditions wreaked havoc in Florida, leading to widespread flight cancellations, including Toni Storm’s trip to Mexico. As a result, the dream match has been delayed, but CMLL assured fans that it’s only a temporary setback.
In an official statement, CMLL shared:
“We would like to inform you that due to the severe damage caused by Hurricane Milton, multiple flights in and out of the United States have been canceled, including the scheduled flight for AEW wrestler Toni Storm, who was scheduled to arrive in Mexico for an exciting head-to-head bout against La Catalina… we will be working hard with all parties involved to coordinate a new date that will allow our fans to enjoy this anticipated match.”
To make up for the postponement, La Catalina will now team up with Samantha Black in a 2/3 Falls Tag Match against Persephone & Zeuxis during the October 11 show. Despite the setback, fans can still expect an action-packed night at CMLL Viernes Espectacular.
Here’s the updated lineup for the 10/11/2024 show:
While the postponement is disappointing, fans can look forward to the rescheduled match between Toni Storm and La Catalina, with a new date to be announced soon.
