It’s the final match of the night! Jon Moxley enters from outside the building and through the crowd. Chris Jericho comes out for the main event, his music sung by a choir.

AEW World Championship

(C) Chris Jericho W/santana & ortiz Vs. Jon Moxley

The main event gets underway and both men run at each other and trade hands. Moxley tosses Jericho from the ring and they fight around ringside and over the barricade into the crowd. Jericho starts using random things in the crowd to attack Jericho, and the announcers think he’s trying to get disqualified. They fight up the steps in the arena and Moxley elbows the head of Jericho, but Y2J knocks him down the steps.

Jericho takes the camera from a cameraman and films himself giving Moxley the finger, then puts a fan’s sign over his neck and throws Moxley back to ringside. Jericho slams Moxley with the barricade, but Jon comes back with a double axe handle from the ramp. Moxley beats Jericho around ringside, and bites the stitches in Jericho’s forehead!

Jericho sends Moxley head-first into the ring post and he gets busted open. Jericho drags Moxley over to the timekeeper’s table and he powerbombs him through it! Moxley is lying in a heap on the floor with blood pouring from his head and Y2J is posing in the ring. Jon gets back in the ring and Jericho punches his head, followed by a double axe handle to the back.

Jericho goes to the outside and rings the bell, declaring himself the winner. He gets back into the ring and slingshots Moxley into the bottom rope before giving the fans the fingers. Moxley gets fired-up and sends Jericho into the buckles but Le Champion comes back with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Jericho tosses Moxley from the ring and distracts the referee so that Santana and Ortiz can stomp Jon.

Jericho leaves the ring and slams Moxley into the steel steps. Moxley gets back in an Jericho drapes him on the top rope before hitting a dropkick. Jericho puts Jon on the top rope and chops his chest before climbing up but Moxley drops him down. Both men trade shots in the centre of the ring and Moxley delivers several lariats, followed by a mudhole stomping. Moxley looks for a dropkick from the middle rope but Jericho catches his legs for the Liontamer. Moxley transitions into a heel hook and Jericho crawls to the ropes and rolls outside.

Moxley hits Jericho with a suicide dive to the back, then puts him back inside. Jericho tries to hit a springboard kick to knock Moxley from the apron but Jon counters by hanging him on the ropes. Jon looks for a Paradigm Shift but Santana and Ortiz get on the apron and Moxley knocks One off but the other uses the soap-sock to crack him, and Jericho follows-up with a Lionsault for a near-fall.

Jericho whips Moxley to the corner and hits a lariat, then looks for a Codebreaker but Moxley counters. They exchange reversals until Moxley gets the Liontamer on Jericho! Le Champion considers tapping but Jake Hager comes running down the ramp, so Moxley releases the hold and punches him back. Jericho then hits the Codebreaker for a near-fall. Jericho grabs Moxley and applies a Liontamer and walks him into the middle of the ring.

Moxley crawls to the ropes. Jericho gets in the face of Aubrey Edwards and even shoves her but it was just to get disqualified. Moxley drops Jericho but then Jake Hager punches him through the ropes. Aubrey saw it and she ejects all of The Inner Circle from ringside! While Edwards is sending them from the ring, Sammy Guevara runs in from behind and hits Moxley with the AEW Championship and high-tails it through the crowd. Aubrey Edwards comes back and Jericho crawls over and pins…but Jon kicks out!

Moxley is bleeding again as the two of them trade shots. Moxley builds a head of steam but Jericho gouges his good eye! Jericho kicks Moxley down, then taunts him because he can’t see. Jon swings wild punches but Jericho drills him with a punch. Jericho climbs to the middle rope and pulls his knee pad down to hit a knee drop to the face. Jericho lines-up the Judas Effect but Moxley ducks it and hits a Paradigm Shift but he can’t see to make the pinfall. Moxley removes the eye patch and reveals that he can see just fine! Moxley points at Jericho and hits an elevated Paradigm Shift for the win.

Winner and New AEW Champion: Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley celebrates his huge title win after the match and the announcers say we have entered a new era, and we’re all invited along for the ride.

Jon grabs the microphone afterwards. He says he loves this $hit. He says it’s been one hell of a long road this past year. But this isn’t his title, just like the fans own AEW. The fans are the fuel that run the company. About a year ago they said they were bringing pro wrestling back to the fans and that’s what they’ve done. And this title belongs to the fans in Chicago, and the fans who have been with him since the beginning. He says there isn’t much left to say but it feels like beer o’clock. They start to play his music and he says “what the fu&k?” Moxley says he doesn’t plan to hide behind the belt but right now it’s time to drink some whiskey and he leaves through the crowd.

And that’s it for AEW Revolution. Let us know what you thought of the PPV and I’ll see you back here on Monday night for WWE Raw. Until then, safe travels!
