AEW is going all out for the October 21 episode of Dynamite, as it will deal with the fallout from the WrestleDream pay-per-view. That’s why the company has booked a memorable lineup with big matches to keep fans engaged from start to finish.

Ilja Dragunov vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey

Ilja Dragunov didn’t come to AEW for an easy first match. Dragunov officially arrived at WrestleDream, and Tony Khan has already given AEW’s newest signing his first opponent. He’ll make his in-ring debut tonight against Mike Bailey.

Bailey is coming off a pretty rough assignment himself. He was one of the eight men in the Clockwork Carnage match for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream, where Will Ospreay ultimately left with the title. Now Bailey gets Dragunov just days later. There’s no slow introduction for Dragunov here. Bailey can push the pace with almost anybody, and Dragunov gets the chance to show exactly what he’s bringing to AEW in his very first match.

Will Ospreay & Adam Copeland vs. Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher

Will Ospreay survived WrestleDream with the AEW World Championship, but he’s right back in the ring tonight. Ospreay teams with Adam Copeland against Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher, bringing together four men who were involved in major matches at WrestleDream.

Ospreay and Copeland were both part of Clockwork Carnage, while Fletcher and Knight challenged the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

That title match didn’t end with Fletcher and Knight leaving as champions, but beating the AEW World Champion tonight would be a pretty good way to recover. Ospreay, meanwhile, has barely had time to get past WrestleDream before being thrown into another fight.

AEW TBS Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match: Maya World vs. Queen Aminata

Persephone’s next challenger will be decided tonight. Maya World faces Queen Aminata in a No. 1 Contender’s Match, with the winner earning an opportunity at the AEW TBS Championship.

Aminata was already one of Persephone’s challengers in the Four-Way Title Match at WrestleDream, but she didn’t leave with the championship. Tonight gives her an immediate route back to Persephone if she can beat Maya. Maya has an even bigger opportunity in front of her. One victory puts her directly into the TBS Championship picture and gives her a chance to go after one of AEW’s established champions.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Match: The Young Bucks vs. Mark Davis & Jake Doyle

The Young Bucks retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship at WrestleDream. Now Mark Davis and Jake Doyle have a chance to earn their own title shot.

Matt and Nick Jackson face Davis and Doyle in a Championship Eliminator Match, meaning the challengers can put themselves in line for a future title match if they beat the champions tonight. That’s a pretty big opportunity considering the Bucks are coming off another successful defense against Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher.

Davis and Doyle don’t need to take the championships tonight. They just need to prove they can beat the champions once. If they do, Matt and Nick will have to worry about doing it all over again with their titles actually at stake.
