Matt Hardy may have dropped the biggest clue yet about where TNA is heading with Syx. While he didn’t reveal any concrete plans, Hardy strongly hinted that Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw won’t be the only members of the new faction for long.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the conversation began with Sawyer and Shaw’s arrival in TNA as the mysterious attackers targeting The Hardys. Asked what the former Wyatt Sicks members bring to the company, Hardy said they already have plenty of recognition from their WWE run, even if he doesn’t think they reached their full potential there.

“I think they bring a lot of star power. Obviously, WWE didn’t utilize them to their maximum potential. But they did have that powerful debut, and they were going to be a faction that carried on kind of Bray Wyatt’s vision and kind of the TV and the character and spiritual and almost supernatural-type work that he loved to do and he loved to be involved in.”

“They were going to carry that on, and there were some moments that were very impactful, and they had a tag-team title run there, which was nice. But still, there is no TV like the power of WWE TV, especially when it comes to a worldwide audience and fan base. So they do bring star power.”

Hardy also had plenty of praise for Joseph Sawyer, saying he was impressed after finally getting to spend some time with him backstage before the TNA tapings. He described Sawyer as someone who can adapt to almost any style in the ring and believes he has a very high ceiling.

“No, he’s very, very talented. I mean, he’s a guy who can wrestle a variety of styles. You know, he’s just not like a brawler. He’s not just a wrestler, or he’s not just a flyer. I mean, he can do a little bit of everything. And… I do like him, and I think he has a ton of potential. He’s a really good athlete.”

The conversation then turned to the future of Syx. After Jon Alba wondered whether Bo Dallas could eventually become part of the group, Hardy didn’t confirm anything—but his answer certainly made it sound like Sawyer and Shaw won’t be the only members forever. Rather than talking specifically about Bo, Hardy pointed to the faction’s name as the biggest clue.

“I don’t think they decided to title the faction Six just because they thought they were going to be two. So, I think a lot of things are possible going forward.”

Hardy stopped well short of revealing who might join the group or when it could happen, but his comments certainly hint that TNA has bigger plans for Syx than simply pairing Sawyer and Shaw together. Whether that eventually includes Bo Dallas or someone else remains to be seen, but Hardy made it sound like the faction’s story is only just beginning.

If Syx does expand, who do you think should be the next member? Let us know your picks in the comments below.
