AEW brought Double or Nothing to Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, with several championships on the line. While the AEW World Title match had a stipulation attached to it, the AEW World Tag Team Championship also came with one of its own, as FTR defended the titles against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an “I Quit” match.

FTR entered as champions after retaining the titles against The Conglomeration on the final Dynamite and Collision before the show. Copeland and Cage came in trying to end their issue with FTR, but there was more on the line than the titles, since a loss would mean Copeland and Cage could never team again.

This match kicked off the pay-per-view, and they didn’t hold back. Weapons got involved eventually, as ladders and chairs were used. Adam Copeland set up a couple of tables in preparation for what was next. Stokely Hathaway also got involved as well, which gave FTR an advantage.

A toolbox was brought into the ring, and Dax Harwood got a wrench job on his nose, but he didn’t say that he quit. Eventually, Beth Phoenix came out, and the ring was dismantled.

Although this was the first match of the night, they literally tore the ring apart. Then the tables were set on fire, and they were destroyed with a crazy high spot.

Eventually, Beth Copeland got Spike, the nail-covered board, and he gave it to Adam Copeland to use on Dax before he said he quit. That meant new AEW World Tag Team Champions, and it was a wild match that got them there.

What’s your take on FTR’s time in AEW? Are they still top guys in your book? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
