The wait appears to be over for The Beast Mortos and El Clon.
After months of being unable to compete for AEW in the United States because of visa issues, Dave Meltzer reports that both stars have now been cleared to return. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared the brief but significant update.
“Should mention Mortos and Clon both got their visas approved.”
Fans have already seen the first result of that development. El Clon returned to AEW television at Wednesday’s Collision tapings in Nashville, where he faced Lio Rush in a qualifier for the AEW International Championship match at AEW Redemption. It marked his first AEW appearance in the United States since April, when he unsuccessfully challenged Jack Perry for the National Championship.
Mortos should not be far behind. He hasn’t wrestled for AEW in the United States since March after his visa situation kept him off American shows. During that stretch, he continued wrestling elsewhere, including a high-profile loss alongside Sammy Guevara to Máscara Dorada and Místico at Arena México, where they dropped the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Now, with the visa issues resolved, both wrestlers are once again available for AEW events in the United States. It’s a quiet update, but an important one for AEW’s roster depth. Instead of waiting on immigration paperwork, the company can now plug both Mortos and El Clon back into its regular rotation whenever creative calls for them.
